Projects that make a difference
80,000 Hours puts together people with a shared vision who want to make the world a better place. That means we can collaborate to create projects that make a difference.
If you have an idea that you want to turn into reality, email ben@80000hours.org so we can try to find partners for your project. Alternatively, if you join you can search our members for people who might be able to help. If you have a really strong proposal for a high impact organisation, then seed funding is a possibility or other support.
Our members have already been involved in several new projects.
Effective Animal Activism
Effective Animal Activism was launched by 80,000 Hours member Eitan Fischer with support from 80,000 Hours as an official 80,000 Hours project. It turns the ideas of effective altruism on the problem of animal suffering. It identifies and advocates the most effective ways to reduce animal suffering.

Development Media International is a new charity that’s potentially very cost-effective, and includes 80,000 Hours member Will Snell among its directors.

Many of our members are involved in setting up start-ups that make the world a better place. For instance:

-
James Norriss is involved in a bunch of cool projects
