About the show
What can I expect?
Unusually in-depth interviews with the people shaping AI: researchers inside and outside the frontier companies, policymakers, activists, forecasters, and sceptics.
We examine AI's bleeding edge and the questions it raises. Will AI seek power for itself, or concentrate it in the hands of a few? How can we prevent AI-powered bioweapons and engineered pandemics? We also take the stranger questions seriously, like whether the systems we're building could matter morally themselves.
Short on time? Our video essays and explainers cover the latest AI developments in half an hour or less.
What is 80,000 Hours?
The world faces urgent risks from AI. 80,000 Hours is a nonprofit that exists to answer one key question: what can you do about it?
Our research, podcast, and careers advice will help you understand the risks, figure out where you fit in, and either skill up or find a role right away — all for free.
If you're new here, read our guide to using your career to reduce risks from AI to find out why this could be your life's most impactful work.
