I studied Engineering at Oxford and worked as a software engineer for a couple of years after I graduated. While I was an engineer at startup Onfido I began to help the founders with product management, and found it more varied and engaging than engineering. As the company grew, I got more involved with it and became their Head of Product, growing the product management team as the company expanded. I’ve gained significant insight into how companies are founded and scaled, and I feel well-prepared for becoming a founder myself when I move on from Onfido. I think that if you can get into product management at an early-stage start-up I genuinely believe it’s one of the best methods of building skills for tech entrepreneurship.
